Retreat Registration Policies

If what you are looking for is not answered here, try the Frequently Asked Questions. The Retreat registrar can be contacted by Email at retreat@deepspring.org.

Guidelines

An early registration discount will be offered for one month after the retreat is announced. Amount of the discount will vary based on the cost of the retreat. 50% of the total retreat cost must be paid during the discount period for one to be considered officially registered and to qualify for the early registration discount. Thereafter, payment of 50% of the retreat fee is required to be considered officially registered. Payment in full is due at the time of the retreat.

Priority for Requests

The managers are responsible for assigning rooms and attempting to accommodate any requests. Retreatants should be sure they take up their requests with the managers before the retreat actually begins. When rooms are tight, priority is assigned in the order in which retreatants have registered. Retreatants who register first have the first choice in getting a room - however the managers have control over actually assigning the space.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests received one month before the first day of the retreat will receive a full refund of fees paid minus a $25 processing fee.

For cancellation requests made less than 30 days before the first day of the retreat for reasons of illness or emergencies a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee, will be given.

For non-emergency cancellations less than 30 days before the first day of the retreat, a 50% refund will be given if there is no waiting list. If there is a waiting list then a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee, will be given.

Scholarship Policy

Scholarships are available. In general only one full (or two half scholarships) will be made available for any retreat. While registration for the summer retreat appears as two retreats (three day and seven day), only two half scholarships are available for the summer retreat. For residential retreats the scholarhip recipient may only have a shared room. The registrar will decide about awarding scholarships.

Installment Payments

You might be able to arrange paying for a retreat using installment payments. Contact the registrar if you are interested in this.

Manager Scholarships

In general the two managers for a retreat are given a half-scholarship for their work if they also want to attend and stay over night. In practice this means that managers for the Steiner Retreat pay nothing as they have little retreat time as they are preparing food and cannot really participate. Managers for the No-Frills and the Summer retreats get a one-half scholarship. Should the Summer retreat only have one manager for the weekend and week, the one full scholarship can be granted.
