Brazil journal 2014 post 4 Jan 13-16

I'm sitting on my bed in room 15 of Jardim dos Anjos, mostly unpacked, and very tired after an awake night on the plane. I realize today that in 11 years I have (or will have by mid-february) spent over a year of my life living in this room. It's a pleasant space, one of the larger rooms, 2 windows that look out on dining terrace and garden, a bottle brush plant filled with red blossoms out the main window. Hummingbirds love that plant and I love to watch them hover and feed.

There's a double bed, pretty comfortable, a small table and chair, a rack  with hangers for clothes, a large, white wood  shelf that hold everything else, and a night-table with lamp. This year there is a very pretty new bedspread and shams, white with blue and turquoise flowers.

We arrived about 12:30; we were delayed as one of AL's bags went missing and a look-alike was on the baggage carousel, Hopefully the person will quickly realize the mistake and bring it back, (later; they did) and they will deliver it for her. So a note to those coming next week; mark your luggage BOLDLY with a big ribbon or something that clearly defines it, especially if it is a bag that looks like many others.

Lunch, unpacking and Amy and I went to the pool. It was a magnificent day, sunshine but not too hot, fleecy clouds, and the pool felt perfect. The woman from whom I usually rent the “foldbike”  bike has moved away  and sold her pousada. They were miraculously able to find me a similar bike, Raleigh rather than Yeah Brand , but folds, with gears, made every much the same,. Tomorrow I'll play with it, adjust the seat height, and lubricate it so it folds easily when needed. Today I just rode it to the pool. Seat too low to ride it uphill back; tomorrow! But the knee was pretty good with the riding, though tired and a little achy by the end of ride and1/2 hour swim. I felt so happy to be out there, coasting down the hill past gardens on the bike, and then to be swimming in that glorious weather and scenery.

Amy went with me and we stopped at fruttis for a chocolate acai smoothie on the way back. We also walked across the street to the new casa crystal store. Many more crystal choices but expensive. I think it is run by Medium Joao‘s son.  Then riding back up hill to the pousada on main street, I passed a new building with Ju Modas, my friend Regina's store. I had noticed the old site near the highway boarded up as we drove in and felt sad, thought she had closed. This new store is 3 times as big, with many more crystals, and lovely clothes and gifts. I'm very happy for her. It was good to see her.

Back here for a nap and awakened at 7, totally befuddled, 7AM or PM? Slipped in to get some dinner that had been saved for me.

Y arrived, and now all 6 of us for week one are here. Good to see D&J.

That's it for tonight. 10PM and I'm going to sleep.

Thursday Jan 16 now. Too much to write, already, so just a glance over...

They did surgery on me in my room Monday night, I awakened woozy and achy, and after a light breakfast, went back to sleep and slept until supper. I woke once about 3, saw the sun and blue sky, had a brief thought of “pool” but went back to sleep. After dinner I slept all night! Wednesday morning up early and to the casa, to our various lines, 2nd time or revision. The entity told me ‘crystal bath then sit in current, so I did that, sititng back in current weds. AM and again all afternoon, a 5 hour session! He did more surgery on me in current. D&J were sent to surgery, the other three to current.

Home and right to sleep. Back to Current early this AM. More work on this body. Also a lot of deep reflections and insights that I will have to add over the weekend. I'm too tired now. This afternoon I decided to stay here, lay down after lunch and slept for 3 more hours. Peeked out and thought ‘swim' again, but went back to sleep.  Up for supper and now ready for bed. So I know they are working on my many needs.

Y and AK sent to surgery today, leaving only AL and me. M is to arrive form Amsterdam today but plane is delayed. A man named Joe has joined us, from Spokane, here for 3 months, has a TM meditation  background and some depth so I invited him to join with our group and he gratefully accepted. He has read CH so knows a bit about vipassana.

More depth in journal over the weekend; there are insights I don't want to lose, but need to sleep now.
